Colour Matters

A big chunk of our first few weeks on FCP have been about colour. It may seem ridiculous to say but I never appreciated the extent to which colour has an impact. Of course I was subliminally aware of it, I'm going to blame it partly on never doing colour theory at college. We have created 2 Pin boards (take a look here) on 2 potential colour schemes to then use to create palettes on photoshop ect.

My first is a moodier gold. I was inspired by a professional colour board I stumbled upon initially. As I delved deeper, I found images I really loved such as glitter coated mussel shells and the amazing D&G collection inspired by religious mosaic (this will forever be a favourite ever since the Italian Fashion exhibition at the V&A). My only concern with this is how a proper metallic gold will transfer into a digital colour on photoshop so I will be playing with that one.

The second board started with that fantastic image of a room with a chaise lounge and a wall covered every inch in photo frames. I love the mix of a Hermes Orange and a pretty blue or forest green. It reminds me of YSL Morocco which ties quite well into the 70's trend.

Next stop is colour strips. Photoshop is brand new to me so I can foresee hours of playing and youtube tutorials.
